About Us
The Gaza Community Partnership (GCP) is a hub for Palestinians in Canada aimed at helping find community and resources, to connect, to access training, education, housing, and employment, and serve as an organizing platform to launch and promote enterprises.
Building Our Community
At GCP, we conduct ongoing research and surveys to better understand the geographies of Palestinian settlement in Canada and the needs, hopes, and challenges for the community. As we connect with people across the country, we are building a comprehensive database of resources, agencies, programs, and services, and are actively referring and connecting people with supports, events, and local organizations.
We have built a coalition of partner organizations across the country - partners we trust, admire, and who have long been working in support of Gaza and Palestine. Collectively, the founding partner organizations build the GCP network together. We welcome your support and would love to stay connected as we grow!
Our Story
The GCP was born from lived experience, care, and community. I was born and raised in a refugee camp in Gaza, and later arrived in Canada as a refugee myself, learning firsthand how difficult it can be to navigate unfamiliar systems while carrying the weight of displacement. When my own family came to Canada as evacuees from Gaza, it became clear that settling is not a moment, but a long and tender process; one that requires more than paperwork or services. It requires time, trust, and many people walking alongside one another.
Through years of working with refugees and refugee claimants, I came to see how Gaza evacuees are among the most vulnerable; arriving while still living through ongoing trauma, loss, and the reality of an unfolding genocide back home. GCP emerged as a collective, trauma-informed response to this reality: a community-rooted approach that centres dignity, care, and shared responsibility, and recognizes that healing and belonging happen best when people are supported together, not in isolation.
